For those of you just joining me, I am participating in a fantastic weekly makeover challenge hosted by Calling It Home.
You might remember from last week, this room was a junk pile! Getting the room cleared out was an event. I decided this week it would be best to focus on preparation and planning.
First, I created a floor plan to make sure the ideas in my head would work in reality. I really recommend a space plan whenever you are thinking of introducing new furnishings. It will reveal potential problems, and save valuable time and money. For example, I figured out that the chair I thought I wanted to use was much too large for my room. So, I will use my desk chair to move back and forth from my sewing desk and workspace. For more tips on space planning, visit this post!
I ordered my daybed, rug and paints for the room. I can’t wait to get started now that the room is a blank slate! I am planning on putting a white wash wood wall (try saying that fast:) on the wall with the window. I think it will add great texture and interest to the room!
I have a pretty big statement color chosen for the ceiling. It will either be a big hit or big miss. Come back to see how it turns out!
